A full-frame replacement removes the entire window down to the rough opening, which allows the installers to inspect for wood rot, replace damaged sills, and install fresh flashing and insulation.

An insert (or pocket) window uses your existing window frame and replaces only the operable sashes and hardware. This approach is faster and preserves interior trim, though it slightly reduces your visible glass area.

Doing a full-frame window replacement is more expensive than an insert (pocket) replacement, typically costing significantly more for both materials and labor.

What is a pre-hung door? A pre-hung door comes pre-mounted inside a fully assembled frame, complete with a threshold, weatherstripping, and hinges.

For exterior door installation or replacement projects, pre-hung doors are almost always recommended. Achieving an airtight and energy-efficient weather seal on an exterior door is incredibly difficult when using a slab door unless the existing frame is perfectly square and undamaged.
